Obituary - Floyd Kellums passed away Saturday, June, 1926 at the Methodist Hospital at Scottsbluff after an illness of about two months. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Morrill Monday afternoon at two o'clock and interment at the Caldwell Cemetery.
Floyd, or as he was familiarly called by his friends, "Punch" was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kellums, one of the respected pioneer families. He was born on the home place south of Morrill and was truly a pioneer son as he passed all his life in this vicinity. He had been in the employ of the government several years before his death. About two months ago he had an attack of flu at his home in Lyman where he was living at the time. He did not recover as he should, so was taken to the Sanitarium at Boulder, Colorado. About two weeks ago, he was brought to the Kellums home in Morrill, but as his condition grew so much worse was taken to the M. E. Hospital, but the disease had affected his heart and he passed away Sunday. Floyd Kellums was born at Caldwell, Nebraska on December 24, 1900 being 25 years and 5 months old at the time of his death. In September of 1922 he was married to Helen Lewis at Torrington, Wyoming. To this union was born two sons, Lee, who will be three years old next August, and Teddy Lewis, two years old in next August. in addition to the wife and parents there are four sisters left, Mrs. Hazel Schultz of Glendale, California, Mrs. Lewis Richardson of Lyman, Mrs. Harvey Lippincott of Morrill and Mrs. Harold Cox of Scottsbluff. There are brothers, Lockwell Kellums of Longview, Washington, Clarence, Arthur, Roy and John, one brother, Hugh, having passed away three years ago.
The deceased numbered his friends by the score as he had a happy genial disposition and the sympathy of the whole community are with the relatives. To the young wife and babies, bereft of a husband and father the loss is beyond measure. The real tribute of his sorrowing friends and former neighbors was marked by the large crowd who attended the funeral services as the church could not accommodate the crowd. Perhaps the largest procession seen here for years followed the remains to the Kiowa where the interment took place.

"Punch" was married to Helen Catherine Lewis in Torrington, Wyoming on September 16, 1922. They had the children;

Ted Lewis Kellums - 1924
Barbara J. Kellums - 1926
Virginia L. V. K. - 1932

After Floyd's death, Helen married Ben E. Matthes. He passed away in 1974 in Fort Collins and she passed away in 1982 (FAG #52899379)
