A Memorial Service for Leon L. Braddy of Northeast Portland will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lynchwood Christian Church.
Mr. Braddy died of pneumonia Friday in a Portland hospital. He was 70.
He was born March 5, 1919, in Elvins, Missouri. He moved to Portland in 1961, and lived here until 1978, when he moved to Lincoln City. He moved back to Portland in 1988.
Mr. Braddy worked as a truck driver for IML and Oregon-Nevada-California trucking companies for a number of years until he retired due to disability in 1977. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Lynchwood Christian Church, and belonged to Ocean Lake Christian Church when he lived at the coast.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Mary Lou; two sons; brothers, Willard, George, and Lloyd, all of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Disposition was by cremation.
The famiy suggests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon State Health Sciences University's opthamology department.

Leon Lawrence Braddy was born March 5, 1919 in Elvins, Missouri. He grew to young adult-hood, married and had two children. His first marriage ended.
His life with Mary Lou began in Huntington Park, California, where they were engaged. They married February 24, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
They came to Portland in 1961 and Leon was a truck driver for IML and Oregon-Nevada-California trucking companies, where he earned awards for his good driving record. He was retired due to disability in 1977. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. In 1978 they moved to Lincoln City, and returned to Portland in 1988.
He was a member of Lynchwood Christian Church and of Ocean Lake Christian while in Lincoln City.
Survivors include Mary Lou, his wife of 28 years, two sons, brothers, Willard, George and Lloyd, all of St Louis; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Leon died May 5, 1989. Inurnment is in Willamette National Cemetery.
