Death of Mrs. Sallie Agard- Had been in ill health for more than a year.
Mrs. Sallie C. Agard, 81, a resident of this city the past 16 years died at 11 o'clock this morning at her home, 809 W. Main St. after having been bedfast the past two or three weeks. Mrs. Agard had been in ill health for over a year, but was only recently taken critically ill.
Mrs. Agard was born in Springfield, Illinois December 25, 1857 and came West several years later. She and her husband and family resided in Oklahoma for a number of years before coming to Independence. Mr. Agard died 15 years ago. The deceased was a member of the Christian Church and had been actively engaged in church work, until the past few years, when she lost her hearing.
Surviving are a son, John, of the home and a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Trauger of Lakeland, Florida.
The body was removed to the Potts funeral home and late this afternoon no definite funeral arrangements had been made.

Rites for Agard:
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie C. Agard, well known resident of this city who died Saturday morning at her home here were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Potts Chapel. Reverend E.S. DeSpain of the Grace Methodist Church presided and burial was in Mount Hope.
