Absalom Adams was born in Jackson County, Georgia in 1807 to Jesse & Casey (Posey, parents unknown) Adams. While no records have been found to document they were his parents, it was passed down within the family history & well known by family they were his parents. It has been recommended some Adams male descendant have his DNA done in order to prove the lineage.
Absalom Adams as head of household with children are shown on the 1840 Coweta Co, Georgia census as is Jesse Adams. He and his wife Sarah Brooks(parents unknown) were members of New Hope Baptist Church in Coweta County Georgia from 1843 to 1845. Between 1845 and 1850 they moved to Dallas Co., AR where they remained farming in Dallas County. They raised a large family though one of the girls was said to have died young.
Absalom and Sarah Adams died sometime during the Civil War. Family stories say that they were killed by Indians but that's more a myth than fact. Likely they were either killed by raiders or died of ill health during the war. At any rate family members say they were buried in unmarked graves at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dallas County.
