Czeslawa "Tessie" Kowalewski, 83, of Main St. Cromwell, wife of Henry Kowalewski, died Friday, April 21st at Middlesex Hospital.
Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Wojciech and Katherine Kula and lived in Cromwell most of her life.
Tessie and Hank ran Frank's Amoco Service Station on Main St. in Cromwell for over 50 years, where she always loved talking with all her customers and working around the station. She could always be seen raking leaves, shoveling snow and sweeping the driveway.
Besides her husband of 60 years, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Kozaka and her husband Ted of Cromwell; a grandson, Matthew Kozaka; a step-grandson, Jeffrey Kozaka; and a sister Cecilia Ziejewski of Wilmington, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at St. John Church, 5 St. John Court, Cromwell, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26 at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St. Cromwell, on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to Cromwell Ambulance Div., PO Box 269, Cromwell, CT 06416.
