ALLEN AUSTIN DIED AT ROCKTON SUNDAY --- Effects of Operation at Beloit Hospital Fatal - Funeral Services to be Held Wednesday Afternoon. ---
Rockton, Jan. 17. -- Allen E. Austin, for twenty years a resident of Rockton, passed away at his home here at 7 o'clock Sunday morning, following an operation performed less than two weeks ago at the Beloit general hospital for appendicitis.
Mr. Austin was born Aug. 4, 1882 [sic], and came to Rockton twenty years ago. He has been employed by the Rockton Moulting Stamp company. Surviving him are his widow, formerly Miss Bessie Burdick of Rockton, two children, Lester, aged three years and Helen, one year old. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Austin live in Rockton, and his brothers, John and Frank, and a sister, Mrs. T. Knapp, also live here. Another brother, Albert, lives just outside of Rockford.
Funeral services will be held at the home afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. J. Eddy of the Baptist church officiating, and interment will be in the Rockton cemetery.
