Emily Damratoski, 99, of Mt. Lebanon, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, 24 days before her 100th birthday. Wife of the late Michael Damratoski (former Pittsburgh Police Officer), and sister of the late Leonard Adams. Emily will be remembered for her loving heart and giving spirit. She had a strong devotion to her family and friends. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at home for a memorable Christmas, exchanging family stories and traditions. Emily always brought her family together and will be deeply missed. She was a long-time, active member of St. Anne's Church. Emily is survived by her children, Marian (Joe) DeBartolo, of Cosenza, Italy, Daniel (Irene) Damratoski, of Mt. Lebanon, James (Lisa) Damratoski, of Plum Borough and Jack (Patricia) Damratoski, of Murrysville; and her grandchildren, Diane Romaine, Darlene Nelson, Denise DeBartolo, Franco DeBartolo, James, Michael, Mark and Lianna Damratoski and Melissa Julius. Emily also had 14 great-grandchildren, including Emilia, her namesake, who now lives a few blocks away from Penn and Main where Emily and Mike originally met. She worked at the Regal Restaurant as a waitress and he was a traffic policeman, before there were traffic lights. Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Anne Church, Castle Shannon (Everyone please meet at Church).
