Arlie Stevenson Campbell, age 91, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Jackson General Hospital. He was born and reared in Little Hatchie Community of Chester county, the son of the late William Arthur and Eula Curtis Campbell. He attended schools in McNairy County and in 1938 was married to Freddie Hurst. They made their home in the Masseyville Community most of their married life. They both worked at Western State Hospital in Bolivar, where he worked as a mail clerk, retiring in 1976. He made his home at Chester County Healthcare for the past 5 years. He was a member of the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freddie Hurst Campbell, January 31, 2005.
He is survived by a son, Hulon Campbell (Kay) of Falkner, MS; two daughters, Winona Singleton (Tom) of Atlanta, GA and Joanne Grantham (Bobby) of Hornsby; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Charles Whitten and Elder Doyle Hurst officiating and burial will follow in Little Hatchie Cemetery in Chester County.
