He was a confederate veteran. He enlisted as a private May 16, 1862. (age 15) Captured near Gettysburg Pa. July 5, 1863. Paroled at Point Lookout MD and exchanged at City Point,VA Dec 28, 1863. Wounded at Hatcher's Run VA Apr. 5, 1865. Sent to Richmond Va hospital. Pension records show he was sent home on wounded furlough Apr.9, 1865. He served with 60th Reg. Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Evans Brigade, Company A. Born 1847 in Houston County, Ga, died in Bibb County, Ga (Macon) Sept 4, 1927. (information from his pension record and Georgia Confederate Roster) Last known address registered with 1920 Census was Pine Street, Macon Ga. He was married to Katherine Grimes Stevens Holt on Jan. 29, 1879. Three children, Miles Fowler Holt,Sr., Mildred Holt Williams, and Albert Sharp Holt,Sr.
