MURPHYSBORO - Jo Ann Ashman, 80, died at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17, 2013, in her residence.

She was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Murphysboro to Ronald and Opal (Prost) Williams. She married Donald J. Ashman on March, 1962. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1995.

She was a member of Saint Andrews Catholic Church.

Jo Ann was employed by Illinois Electric and Gas Company of Murphysboro for many years. She also worked for Kraft Plumbing Company of Murphysboro as an office manager.

She enjoyed her family and friends and when her grandkids came to visit she was delighted. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and yard work. Jo Ann loved watching her grandkids play sports. When at home, she enjoyed Cardinals baseball games.

Jo Ann is survived by three daughters, Paula (David) Craig, Kelly (Mike) Ashman-Raney and Tracy (William) Reardon, all of Murphysboro; a son, Mack Ashman of Olive Branch; ... two sisters, Mary Jean Williams and Melba Jane Glidewell of Murphysboro; close niece Cindy Penrod Ponce; other relatives; and many friends.

Memorials can be made to the Passages Hospice.
