ELSIE SANDER CALLOWAY

Above is freehand cursive etched into cement coverstone. A loose headstone was added but has worn to practically illegible text. A couple of its digits seem to match the above. This grave is not listed in "The Cemeteries Of Grady County, Georgia"(2006) or the "Addendum 2011". It rests beside

d. 1935 (F/G# 127480289),

also not in the books. These are in SECTION D, between folks listed on ROWS 7 & 8 in said books. So their location is SECTION D, ROW 7 1/2, MARKERS 2 & 1, respectively, in the Cairo City Cemetery, CAIRO, GRADY COUNTY, GEORGIA USA. (Note: Row 7 starts with 4 graves with SANDERS, SAUNDERS, and SANDER as surnames/maiden name. This is likely a "Family Lot".)

These are NOT listed in "The Cemeteries Of Grady County, Georgia"(2006), but start the Row on the south end BETWEEN the 2nd grave on ROW 7 and the 1st grave on ROW 8 (INFANT BELL's headstone & foot stone on right in photo). If there is a grave between the SUSIE JOHNSON SANDERS grave and the south fence, it is totally UNMARKED. Both have concrete cover stones, and each identifying head stone is loose due to weather & time. These are in SECTION D, ROW 7 1/2, MARKERS 1 & 2, respectively, Cairo City Cemetery, CAIRO, GRADY COUNTY, GEORGIA USA.

As the headstone appears illegible, the cover stone has:

ELSIE SANDER CALLOWAY
Born July 24, 1905
Died Jan. 21, 1931

etched in its cement. A few of the digits of the weathered headstone seem to match this. This is SECTION D, ROW 7 1/2, at MARKER 2 of the Cairo City Cemetery, CAIRO, GRADY COUNTY, GEORGIA USA. (Note: This grave and at least one other, SUSIE JOHNSON SANDERS (SECTION D, ROW 7 1/2, MARKER 1, F/G# 127480289, were missed by the surveyors or publisher of "The Cemeteries Of Grady County, Georgia USA"(2006); they are between ROW 7 & ROW 8, near other SANDER, SANDERS, & SAUNDERS, but before INFANT BELL on ROW 8, thus ROW 7 1/2).
