Laura Nell Ivie Alarcon, 44, of Winterville, died Monday, November 14, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Born September 5, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of Shelby Sutton Jordan of Winterville and the late Ferrell J. Ivie. She was employed at Dye Sheet Metal, Inc. for 16 years and was a member of the Rusty Wallace Fan Club. She was known as NaNa to her grandchildren, was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, according to loved ones.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Katina Renee Mashburn-Huth and Brian Huth, of Danielsville; son, Christopher Michael Farmer, of Winterville; her mother; maternal grandmother, Mary Nell Passino of Nicholson, for whom she was named; brothers and sister-in-law, Wesley Ferrell and Doris K. Ivie, of Nicholson, Jon Timothy Ivie, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters, Cynthia Ivie and Suzanne Jordan, both of Winterville; grandchildren, Jonathan Bellew, Gabriel Huth, Madeline Huth and Cameron Farmer.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 18, at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with the Rev. Russell Cash officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Pittman, Timothy Ivie, Chris Farmer, John Pau Queen, John Queen, and Josh Ivie. Burial was in Winterville Cemetery. Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
