"Arnie", Arnold Joseph Armmann, 82, died in Colorado Springs Jan. 4, 2005. He lived most of his life in Wichita, Kansas as a carpenter and owner of Armmann's Construction Co. until 1988 when he retired and moved to Buena Vista. Arnie was a World War 11 veteran and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Arnie was a truly talented man whose love for Colorado was evident in love of cross'stitching and quilting many of the historical houses and mines, for which he won many awards at the state fair. He had a passion for collecting and restoring old trains and this is very evident in the many displays and towns which he built to scale. His last endeaver was completion of a display of the historical town of St. Elmo.
He is survived by his daughters and son. Friends and family were invited to a "Sunday Social" Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. to honor and remember Arnie. The social was held at Thunder Lodge, 207 Brookdale Ave.
