A graveside service for James K. Powell, 80, Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Hopkinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ronnie Grace officiating. He died Feb. 8, 2005, at his home in Sacramento following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Hayden and Lavella Powell, Hopkinsville. He was a retired carpenter and was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Alla Mae Knight Powell; a son, Michael Kenneth Powell, Sacramento; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Cheryl) Simpson, Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Preston (Marjorie) Pendleton, the county, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
