Tommy Lee Franklin J r. passed from this life Tuesday 27 May 2014 at his home in Alvin, Texas.T. Lee, as he was known to his family, was born March 12, 1956 in Sikeston, Missouri, the first child of Tommy Lee Franklin Sr. and Jean (Cooper) Franklin.Tommy was proceeded in death by his father, Tommy L. Franklin Sr., his paternal grandmother, Gertrude (Riggs) Franklin and maternal grandparents, J. T. and Edith (Bailey) Cooper. He is survived by his wife Carol of the home. Mother; Jean Parton and step father Wayne Parton of Burden, Kansas. Daughter , Tiffany Lloyd and husband Cody of Groton, Connecticut. Brothers, Michael of Charleston and David of Sikeston. Sisters; Cindy Wylde and husband Gary of Sikeston, Lori Shockley of Joplin, half sisters; Melissa Baumgartner and husband Russ, of Mascoutah, Illinois, Trish Gaston and husband Jimmy of Derby, Kansas. Grand daughters Taylor and Tegan of Groton, Connecticut. Step children; Andrew Vied, Sarah (Vied) Zeller and husband Jason, and A. J. Wagner all of Texas. One step grand son, Zach of Texas. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles, sores of cousins, friends and co-workers.Tommy was raised in Charleston Missouri . After graduating CHS in 1974, he studied electronics at Linn State Technical Collage in Linn, Missouri.He served in the Missouri National Guard, taking his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.Tommy was a ASE Master Certified Technician and International Trucks Diamond Certified Technician. He worked for Interstate Batteries of Houston for eight years and International Trucks of Houston for over 25 years. In the past he had turned down promotions so he could continue to do the “ hands on “ diesel engine mechanic work that he loved.He is sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
