William Sterling Chesnutt, 87, passed away on June 15, 2008. William was born July 9, 1920 to Charles William and Ada Julia (Bradford) Chesnutt in Normanna, Texas.
William married Ollie Gertrude Chesnutt on December 3, 1944 in Harlingen, Texas. William proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp and worked as a book keeper for Central Power and Light before retiring. William was a member of the Commemorative Air Force, Old Time Fiddlers Association, Retired C.P.L. Employees and co-founder of Sr. Citizens Center Kitchen Band.
William was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ollie Chesnutt, four sisters: Mary Underwood Rigby, Bernice Barber, Ethel Robinson, Kate Weiss; two brothers: Charles Owen Chesnutt and Cleon Chesnutt and grandson David Sterling Tucker.
William is survived by his daughter, Patsy Lynn Tucker and husband Shannon of Buena Vista, CO; 3 grandchildren: Laura Catherine Tucker of Austin, Texas, Ellen Marie Tucker and Sallie Jane Tucker both of Buena Vista, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Beeville, TX.
Graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery before memorial services.
A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, Beeville, TX and officiated by Mr. Shannon Tucker.
William was known as "Bill" by friends, "Sterling" by his family,"Curley" by Aunt Gertrude's family
