Forrest S. "Dutch" Carter, 60, 2314 Thirtieth Street, did at 6:45 a.m. today, January 25, 1974 at Crowe Community Hospital. He had been ill for 18 months.
He was born January 1, 1914 in Lawrence County to Allen and Elizabeth Doane Carter. He was a retired lift truck operator at Central Foundry. He married Mary Alice Dumond on June 12, 1939 at Williams and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Ida Rose) Robertson, Route 1, Mitchell; two brothers, Fred and Paul Carter, both of Route 1, Mitchell; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Lucy) Hitchison, Route 1, Mitchell; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was an elder and member of the Fairview Church of Christ. He was a member of UAW-CIO local 440.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with burial in Port Williams Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home.
