Frank L. Beaver, 41 year old resident of 1210 Q Street, died suddenly at 3:30 a.m. this morning at his home. He had been in failing health for four years.
A native of Lawrence County, Mr. Beaver was born February 25, 1927 to John Elmer and Lottie Crawford Beaver. He was recently employed at NAD, Crane and was also a car salesman. He married Betty Allen on June 27, 1949 and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Steven, Gary and John, all at home; two daughters, (twins), Carol and Cathy, both at home; the mother of Bedford; three brothers, Ralph, Phillip and Harold, all of Bedford; and two sisters, Mrs. Jasper (Priscilla) Chastain of Bedford and Miss Rebecca Beaver of Houston, TX.
He was a member of Gillen Post No. 33, American Legion; a veteran of World War Two and a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman's Club.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Edwin Williams officiating. Organ selections will be played by Mrs. Irvin Mann, chapel organist.
Pallbearers will be Howard, Ralph, Steve and Dannie Beaver, Jasper Chastain and Bill Baker. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by Gillen Post No. 33 of the American Legion. The squad will include Lee Inman, Captain, Lloyd Morris, Chaplain, Frank Swango, colors, Mike Hostettler, guard, Glynn Murphy, bearer, Gilbert Canada, guard, Bill Embree, HOward Schelier, Lee Martin, J. B. Hemphill and Cecil Davis, firing squad and David Mastin, bugler.
Burial will be in the Pinhook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Day & Carter Mortuary after noon Wednesday.
