Robert Roy Miller registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, mobilized to Federal service December 23, 1940. He served in the Communications Platoon, Headquarters Company 3rd Battalion, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 7, 1944. SGT Robert R. Miller was killed in action July 24, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France.
