Died 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 1988, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 63, a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, to 1:40 p.m. Friday. Religious services at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Edmond Braud. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by husband, James A. "Neal" Altazan, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca A. Starring, Baton Rouge,and Mrs. Deborah A. Johnson, Kenner; two sons, James N. "Jim" Altazan and Kenneth A. Altazan, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, C.A. Charlet Jr. and George J. Charlet, both of Clinton; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Ronald Charles Altazan; and parents, Charles A. and Manette LeBlanc Charlet Sr. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, St. Gerard Altar Society, Court Marie Louise Catholic Daughters of America and Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. Memorial donations may bemade to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2351 Energy Dr., Baton Rouge.
