Death: Jun., 1945

Burial date: June 15, 1945
Minnie's father, Simon P Stover, was first married to Elizabeth Ida Juda(h) Link. They had all boys and one girl, Ida Elizabeth, who was the mother of President Dwight D Eisenhower. Elizabeth died in 1867, and Simon then married Adalaide D Cook. Their first child together was Minnie Florence Stover. In summary, Ida and Minnie were half sisters.
The 1870 census shows Minnie at the age of approximately 10 months old, living with her family in Augusta County, Virginia. The 1880 census shows her living with her mother, a widow, two half brothers, and siblings. Between 1880 and 1896, she somehow ended up in Iowa.

John William Banks was born in Scott County, Iowa, in about 1873. The 1880 census shows him and sister Ada, living with their grandmother, Susan Barr, and aunt, Mary A Barr.

Minnie and John were married in Scott County, Iowa, in 1896. The 1900 census shows them living in Davenport, Iowa. In 1904, their only child, Luther Stover Banks, was born. Two years later, they moved to Olathe, Kansas, where they lived the rest of their lives.
