This stone was badly deteriorated but from rubbing my hand against the stone I discerned that the name was Susan Aaron. As this grave was directly next to the grave of James Cornelius Aaron, I feel that it is highly likely that this Susan Aaron was one of the three wives of James Cornelius Aaron (see the bio for James Cornelius Aaron on his memorial page).
Glenda Smith, a descendant of the Pulliam family, states that Susan Cunard married 1) Bluford Pulliam, brother of Glenda's great grandfather, David Franklin Pulliam. Bluford Pulliam was killed in the Civil War leaving Susan with two small children, Nancy Emma Pulliam and Elizabeth Pulliam. Susan Ann Cunard Pulliam later married 2) James Cornelius Aaron.
Taken from James C. Aaron's memorial page: James and Susan Ann Cunard Aaron (daughter of John Cunard and Nancy Johnson) had two sons: 1)Paul Spence Carlton Aaron, b. 4 Nov 1870 in Jasper County, GA and d. 26 Aug 1964 in Atlanta, Fulton County, GA and 2) Otis Cornelius Aaron, b. 28 Dec 1874 in Jasper County, GA and d. abt 1953 in Atlanta, Fulton County, GA.
