He was listed as Lyman C. COTTRELL, and his date of death was given as July 11th. His survivors included his wife Ida, a daughter, Ida Mae, and sons Jack C., and Lyman D. Cottrell. The funeral service was at the Mt. Scott Funeral Home, and interment at Lincoln Memorial Park. [See the funeral notice for additional information.]

The Oregon Death Index recorded him as Lyman C. Cottrell, who died 11 July 1959 in Clackamas County.

The 1900 census for Hyde Park, Cache County, Utah shows Lyman Cottrell as age 6, living with his mother and 3 siblings. His mother, Pauline, was born in Denmark. His father isn't listed, but the census shows he was born in Utah. The other children, listed as a daughter and sons of Pauline, were Effie K. Eshelsen, Evan E. Eshelsen, and Alfred L. Cottrell. In 1910, Pauline was shown as the wife of John Wagnetz, and Lyman's surname was listed as Wagnitz. The other children in the household were Eben and Alfred. The family was living in Henry, Bannock County, Idaho. Lyman's step-father was a sheepman.

In 1920 & 1930, Lyman was living in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon with his wife Ida, and their children. In 1930 he was a chauffeur, and in 1920 a Boilermaker in a shipyard. In 1940, they were living in Harmony, Clackamas County, Oregon. In these three census years, their children were listed as Jack C., L. Dean, and Ida Mae E. Cottrell. Another child, was listed as Wayne Cottrell, in 1920, and as Wayne B. Roskelly in 1930.

When Lyman registered for the WWI Draft, in June 1917, he was living in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho. He registered as Lyman Christopher Cottrell, age 23 and married with 2 chldren. He said he was born in Hyde Park, Utah on 29 April 1894. He listed his occupation as Fireman and employed by OSL RR, in Pocatello.

The 1923 Portland City Directory [Oregon] shows Lyman C. and Ida Cottrell lived at 4850 86th SE, and he listed his occupation as a driver.
