Delbert G. Baird, 73, Farmland route 1, died early Monday, June 3, 1974 at his home, following an extended illness.
Mr. Baird was born October 12, 1900 in Randolph County, the son of John W. and Nancy Mae Harris Baird. He had lived most of his life in Randolph County. For 33 years, he was employed as a machinist at Chrysler, Corp., New
Castle, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Bear Creek Friends church.
Surviving are the widow, Marjorie; one daughter, Mrs. Herschel (Mary) Taylor of Farmland route 1; four grand-children and five grandchildren; one brother, Herschel Baird of Dunkirk.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bear Creek Friends church with the Rev. Robert Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery, near Farmland.
Friends may call at the Thornburg funeral home, Lions club building, Parker from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church one hour before the services Wednesday.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Cancer fund.
