Shirley Jean (O'Neal)CREWS , 80, of Lafayette died at home Sunday evening, November 14, 2010. She was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1930, to Frank and Neva Noland O'Neal in Coatesville, Indiana.
Shirley attended Amo High School in Amo, Indiana. She married Paul Allen Crews on September 3, 1948, in Carmel, Indiana. They moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1959 and then to Lafayette, Colorado, in 1967.
Shirley loved gardening; their country home; church; her cats; playing the piano; sewing; and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Westminster.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Paul, of Lafayette, Colorado; her sisters: Evelyn Millikan of Indiana, Mary Ann Coffey of Indiana, and Ruth (and Bob) Douglas of Indiana; a brother: Roy O'Neal of Missouri; daughters: Kate Stone Elliot O'Neal of Indiana, Sandy (and Ernie) Anderson of Boulder, and Joyce (and Dave) Sims of Lakewood; sons: Phil (and Shelley) Crews of Longmont, and Dale (and Rhonda) Crews of Oklahoma; and son-in-law Kevin Smith of Lafayette.
Shirley also is survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray and Noland; a sister, Louise Mecum; and a daughter, Cheryl Smith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Longmont Church of Christ, 1351 Collyer St., Longmont. Viewing will precede the service at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's memory to Mountain States Children's Home, P.O. Box 1097, Longmont, CO 80502.
