Funeral Service for Widely Known Scranton Business Man Held Sunday

Funeral services for Casper Lensing, 48 years old, widely known Scranton business man, were conducted at Scranton Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Father Richard, pastor (of St. Ignatius Church), officiating. Burial was in St. Ignatius Cemetery with the Evans Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers: Henry Krallman, August Nieumier, Jo Kornett, Will Seiter, Will Baumgartner and Will Kleek. Honorary pallbearers: J. D. Knight, J. D. Baker, Hoffer Lucas, Will Kornett, George Schmaltz, H. B. Borgerding, Herman Weiss, Alphonse Kleck, Dr. W. H. Higdon, David Schriever, F. L. Jarrard, and Charles F. Evans, John Daniels and A. M. McKennon.
Mr. Lensing died early last Friday morning in a local hospital after a short illness. He was a victim of pneumonia. He had been a resident of Scranton for 25 years, and was manager of the Union Store at the time of his death. He was born at Shoal Creek and was manager of the German Mercantile Company for several years after he moved to Scranton.
He was a leader in church and civic work, having held several positions in Catholic organizations. For a number of years he had been a member of the County Democratic Central Committee and also the county election board.
Survivors include his wife (Anna C. Heim Lensing), three daughters, Mrs. Herman Buss; Scranton; Dorothy and Mary Jane, of the home; six sons, Father Michael, Subiaco College; George Lensing, Scranton banker; Leo, Casper, Jr., Tommy and James, all of the home.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Christine Lensing, Shoal Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Schriver, Paris; Mrs. John Weaver, Morrison's Bluff; and by four brothers, Joe Lensing, Morrison's Bluff; Aloise, Herman and Henry Lensing, all of Shoal Creek.
