CAMP WOOD Leo A. Lacey of Camp Wood passed away at the veterans Hospital in Kerrville Thursday, May 19. Mr. Lacey was born in Sonora, Texas, in 1895, was a veter an of WWI and a life-long resident of Camp Wood. (Note: he was actually born in Gillespie County Texas on a the Morris Ranch.) Services were Saturday, May 21, at 3:00 p.m. at the Nueces Canyon Church of Christ with Brother Roland Fry and Brother MacVain officiating. Burial was in Barksdale Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leo Lacey (Eva Welch) of Camp Wood; four daughters, Mrs. W.W. (Myrtle) Barker of Artesia NM; Mrs.Hershel (Kathleen) Womach of Kingsville TX, Mrs. Clifford (Virgini a) Alston of Kileen TX; and Mrs. James (Barbara) Carmon of Del Rio TX.; one Son, Leo Lacey Jr. of Hobbs NM; one borther, Dee Lacey of Camp Wood TX; and one sister, Mrs. George (Maime) Herndon of Uvalde TX; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
