OGDEN—Alice Miller Alford, 72, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at her home.
She was born April 10, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of Edward James and Ruth Collins Miller. She married Harold L. Alford on March 24, 1972 in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Ogden in 1975. She had been employed as an executive assistant at Williams Research Co., worked for Ogden City Corp., and secretary at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She also enjoyed working many years at the Chancellory in Salt Lake City and the Utah League of Cities and Towns.
Alice was a member of the Elks Lodge Auxiliary. She enjoyed trips to Pangquitch Lake fishing with her husband and was an avid sports fan especially of the Detroit Lions
She will be remembered for her strong will, passion for helping others and working with the church. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Surviving is her husband Harold, two step-sons and one step-daughter, Gregg L. (Valeri) Alford, Clayton, Calif.; Mark R. Alford, Ogden; and Tammy (Wayne) Klein, Cordelia, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two nieces, Mary Okar and Ruth Reirhart, and two nephews.
Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th St., as per her request she was cremated.
Entombment in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Columbarium.... Funeral directors, Larkin & Sons Mortuary.
