Owner and co-founder of the Omaha Mustangs semi-pro football team in 1964. He was also the Mustangs' coach and general manager.

He was the author of "Rudder, Stick and Throttle: Reaearch and Reminiscences on Flying in Nebraska."

He was a 1933 graduate of Central High School, Omaha and a graduate of the University of Colorado where he played tailback. He was a retired executive with Northern Natural Gas Company.

In 1985, he was elected to the American Football Association Hall of Fame.
