Florence S. (Dillon) Gerstley, 90, of Chatham, died Monday at Epoch, Senior Health Care in Brewster. She was the wife of Arthur B. Gerstley.
Born in Boston and raised and educated in St. Petersburg, Fla., and Weymouth, she graduated from Weymouth High School and Bridgewater State Teachers College.
Mrs. Gerstley taught school in Clinton, Conn., and Pembroke for 25 years. She and her husband retired to Chatham from Pembroke in 1967.
She is a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Chatham Garden Club and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. She enjoyed gardening, dining, traveling, boating and the seashore.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert L. Gerstley, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
