Peter Daum Dies
J. Peter Daum, 89, of Route 4 died about 7 o'clock this morning at his home. He had been ill about four months.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Reed funeral home. The Rev. Ivan H. Miller will read the rites. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home after 11 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
He was born in this county Nov. 20, 1872, the son of J. George and Henrietta Bildameier Daum. He married the former Miss Cora Sutherland Sept. 29, 1901. Mr. and Mrs. Daum celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in September. She survives. He was a member of the United Lutheran church and a retired farmer.
Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Alice Johnson of Route 4; six grandsons, Ronald E. Daum of Columbus, Phillip R. Lovell of Route 4, Earl F. Lovell of Cherry Point, N.C., Richard A. Lovell of Garden Grove, Calif., James A. Lovell of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Gilbert A. Lovell of Germany, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his family, three brothers, a daughter, Miss Ethel Daum, and a son, William E. Daum, preceded him in death.
