CLYDE ALEXANDER

Clyde Harold Alexander, husband of the late Flora Jane Smith and the son of the late Ras and Essie Lewis Alexander, passed away Monday, April 29, 1991 at the age of 91 years.
Mr. Alexander was born August 30, 1899 at Bourbon, Missouri and later lived in Leasburg. In January of 1919 he was married to Flota Jane Smith. Mr. Alexander later went to St. Louis where he was employed for over 30 years with Pevely Dairy. After his retirement he came to the Sullivan area to make his home. Mrs. Alexander preceded him in death in 1974. Clyde was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bourbon, and also a member of Cuba Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Alexander was a dear and gentle man whose values were always clear. He had a profound love of church and religion. Mr. Alexander also had tolled the Bells at the church for many years.
Surviving him a daughter Norma Jane Draper and husband Dr. Edgar Draper of Jackson, Mississippi; one sister, Alice Dauderman of Alhambra, Illinois; three grandchildren, Susan Jane Masteller, Anne Meyers Klevay and Neal Edgar Draper; four great-grandchildren, Madeline Jane and Jack Edgar Masteller, Alexander James and Nickolas Jon Kelvay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were: Jim Smith, Bourbon; Bob Smith, Jefferson City; Danny Dauderman, Alhambra, Illinois; Randy Sprinkle, St. Joseph; Ronald Knight, St. Charles; and Donald Knight, Leasburg, Honorary Pallbearers were: Lieutenant Colonel James Sullen, Marionville; Austion Cowan, Cuba; Jack Sprinkle, Sullivan; Howard T. Smith, Bourbon; Fred Smith, Cuba; and Berkley Alexander, Bourbon.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday from Bourbon United Methodist Church, Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. James Coats officiating. Internment was in the Lea cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. Funeral arraignments were under the care of The Eaton Chapel, Bourbon, Missouri.
