Former Resident Dies In Minnesota; Rites Held There
Among those attending the funeral services held for William Alexander Best in Sleepy, Eye, Minn., last Saturday from this vicinity were his brother, Charles Best, Mrs. Alice Best, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Best and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hollis.
He was born the son of William and Amelia Best January 15, 1876 in Peoria county and passed away in his home at the age of 75 years, two months and 13 days. He lived in this community until 1913 when he settles at his present farm home.
He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Yates of Princeville February 9, 1905. He was a member of the Farm Bureau there for over 30 years and served on the school board for many years. He was a faithful member of the Congregational church and was a deacon of the church at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Otto and Wilbur; and two daughters; Mrs. Albert (Etta) Anderson of Springfield and Mrs. Roy (Mildred) Neal of Cottonwood; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of LaFayette and Howard of Princeville; one sister, Miss Minnie Best of Princeville and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Congregational church in Sleepy, Eye, Minn., with Rev. Clarion Olson officiating. He was laid to rest in the Home cemetery there.
