Pearl E. Barch, 80, of E. Fourth Street, Waverly, died 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born June 15, 1919, in PIke County, a son of the late Abraham W. and Matilda O. Lansing Barch. On June 5, 1942 he was united in marriage to Freida Williamson Barch, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gregory E. and his wife, Charlene C. Barch, Waverly, and Eddie L. Barch and Teresa J. Legg, Waverly; one daughter, Mrs. George E. "Beverly" Harris, Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; twp great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Allen "Minnie" Fultz, Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Barch and Gary Barch.
Mr. Barch was a boiler operator, having retired from the former Goodyear Atomic Corporation, was a member of the New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union in Waverly, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union, Waverly, with Rev. Mark Polley officiating. Burial will follow in Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery with military graveside services by Merritt Post #142, American Legion of Waverly. Friends may call Tuesday (today) from 4-8 p.m. at the Botkin Funeral Home, Waverly, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union, 535 E. Second Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690.
