Birth: Dec. 10, 1821
Death: Aug. 22, 1904

3/12/16 F-A-G contributor Connie # 46496968 added that Aletha is full-blood Delaware.

The following added from memorial left by Jerry Miley 14 Jan 2013
In memory of Aletha Adams & the Shaw family. P.S. Aletha's death year was 1904 according to her obit in a Sept 1904 issue of Cushing newspaper. The 3 names & dates on the single upright tombstone were probably added (OR stone itself purchased) after her Son-I-L Wm G. Shaw's 1909 death. According to my mother, Beulah (Shuey) Miley (1905- 1987), my grandfather, John R. Shuey (1860-1911), worked in nearby towns & my grandmother, Alpha (Shaw) Shuey (1864-1960), moved to Parkland from Stroud in mid-to-late 1890s to assist her father Wm Griffin Shaw (1836-1909)after death of his 2nd wife Lydia M. (Adams) Shaw, Aletha's daughter. He, Wm G. Shaw, had two not-yet-married sons & an elderly mother-in-law, Aletha Adams, to care for. Thus my mother was born in 1905 in her grandfather Wm G. Shaw's log house. In 1980 she took us to it's few scattered remnants above the pond not quite one mile due east of Parkland Cemetery. W.G. Shaw homesteaded that 160 acre tract in 1893 - as I recall the land records of it. JLMiley@comcast.net
