Mrs. Mary Davis Called By Death
CALDWELL, O. - Mrs. Mary Gray Davis, 75, widow of the late Jacob Davis, died Tuesday afternoon in Good Samaritan hospital, Zanesville, immediately following an operation for a fractured hip, which she sustained a week ago when she fell at the home of her son, Carr Davis, in the Sarahsville community.
Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Clark and Elizabeth Bryan Davis and was born and lived her life in Noble county. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist church.
Three children survive. They are Carr Davis, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Luther Joy of Cumberland, and Mrs. George Kirk of Sarahsville. There are nine grandchildren. The surviving brother and sister are Simon F. Gray of Caldwell, and Mrs. Lottie Hutchins of Buffalo. The late Dr. *.L. Gray of Caldwell was a brother of Mrs. Davis.
The body was brought to the McVay-Schilling funeral home and will be removed to the Carr Davis home Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Carr Davis home, conducted by Rev. Conrad Dichm, followed by burial in Village View cemetery, near Sarahsville.
