HUNTINGBURG—Jean Barnett, 70, Huntingburg, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at residence from cancer.
She was born April 6, 1930, in Duff, to Irvin and Lily (Fisher) Gambill.
She was a retired custodian for the Southwest School Corporation where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg.
Surviving are three sons, Jim of Huntingburg, Tim of Holland and Thomas of Batesville; two daughters, Diane Jaeger of Alpharetta, Ga., and Becky Vermillion of Bloomington; two sister, Gladys Whitsitt of Huntingburg and Hazel Scott of Princeton; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Barnett in 1987; a brother, Cletus Gambill; and three sisters, Zella Sellers, Edna Reinbold and Wilma Reinbold.
A public memorial service will be at 1 p.m. EST Thursday, March 29, at the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg. The Rev. William Covey will officiate. Burial will be in Mayo Cemetery in Duff.
Nass and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the church.
