Andrew (sic) O. Allen, 33 year old Lanett Bleachery & Dye Works employee, was killed instantly about 10:30 o'clock last Thursday night in a freak accident that severed his head from his body.
The accident occurred as Allen, a new employee of the Dye Works, stooped (to) cut off a switch. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Union Church in Tallapoosa Co.. Burial was in the churchyard with Johnson & Blakely in charge.
