Laura A. Marshall was born June 13, 1862; was married to Alonzo Follansbee Nov. 3, 1880; died June 9, 1907. Her husband and two children, Mrs. Ira Pannett and Roy Follansbee, survive her; also her father and mother, two brothers and one sister. The funeral was held in the Christian Church Tuesday afternoon and was conducted by the Pastor, Wm. H. Knotts, assisted by Rev. Service of the M. E. Church. For more than four years she had endured the most severe affliction; and three years has been confined to her bed, except a few days last summer. But in all her suffering she was patient. Her faith never failed. She was ever thankful for the little acts of kindness which the friends and neighbors bestowed. It is with her like one has expressed the thought: "Light after darkness, gain after loss; Strength after weakness, crown after cross; Sheaves after sowing, sun after rain, Sight after mystery, peace after pain; Joy after sorrow, calm after blast, Rest after weariness, sweet rest at last."
