Philip married Elizabeth Grimm in 1775 at the Christ Lutheran Church in New York City. After her death, he married his second wife, Hepsibah Hudson, the widow of Rev. Francis Ward.
He, along with his two wives, many of his children and their families, thirty-four people in total, are buried at the Green-wood Cemetery, in Brooklyn, New York, at Lot 576, Section 120.
Philips brothers, Henry and George, along with his son Andrew Merrill and their respective families, are also buried at Green-wood Cemetery.
I believe that Philip must have been buried someplace else, prior to this plot, since he died prior to 1838, the date Green-wood "opened for business."
