MILFORD - Dr. Addison Bybee, 58, prominent physician, stock raiser and civic leader of Milford, died at the Milford hospital late Monday night, following a three-day illness of influenza and pneumonia. Dr. Bybee was a native of Illinois.
He received his M.D. degree from the University of Illinois in 1906. Shortly after graduation, his health failed and he traveled through the Pacific northwest with a brother, Elbert Bybee (brother's name is Dellman), to restore his health. He practiced medicine at Livingston, MT from 1907 until 1911. He later was a resident physician at the Livermore, CA sanitarium, resigning in 1919. While at the sanitarium Dr. Bybee contracted tuberculosis and came to Milford valley to live with his uncle on his ranch. He recovered from the disease and in 1924 married Elizabeth Skeel (Skeele), whom he had met in California in 1918. Dr. Bybee was a prominent rancher here and a breeder of Shorthorn cattle. In 1929 he took over the practice of Dr. Henry C. Hunter, who died. He had also been the doctor for the Union Pacific railroad since 1929.
Surviving are his widow; his mother, Mrs. L. Bybee (Mother's name is Almeda); two daughters, Alice and Kathryn Bybee (sp-Katharine), all of Milford, and one brother, Elbert Bybee (Dellman), Fort Denton, MT.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Milford high school auditorium. Tentative arrangements are being made to take the body to Illinois for burial.
