Services were held Wednesday aftermoon in the First Ward Chapel for David P Adamson, Jr. who died in Salt Lake Saturday last.
Mr Adamson was a resident fo this city for a number of years till about 14 years ago when he moved to Salt Lake to make his home.
He was born in Scotland, November 4, 1864, and came to this country in 1881. He lived in Utah since, with the exception of a short time spent in Idaho and Montana, making American Fork his home till moving to Salt Lake.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs Belle Steggles Anderson, and one son who lives in Scotland, also a brother Henry N Adamson of Salt Lake and six sisters, Mrs Betsy Cousins and Mrs Wm Firmage of this city; Agnes Brunton of Scotland, Jessie Steggles and Emily Cairns, both of Salt Lake and Annie Watson of Coalville.
H S Rasmussen had charge of the services and music was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs Jennie Begler, Mrs Myrl McGrew, John H Davis and Clarence Grant. The opening number was Rock of Anges followed by prayer by James Brown, after which the quartette sang Like As A Father. John H Davis was the first speaker, followed by John W Chipman of Salt Lake, after which the quartette sang Beautiful Isle.
Pres. S L Chipman and Pres. Jas H Clarke then spoke, and the closing musical selection wa a solo O My Father by John H Davis. N H Na-- pronounced the benediction, after which the cortage proceeded to the local cemetery, where burial took place. Mr Davis dedicated the grave.
