Peggy Annette Benfield
Peggy Annette Newton Benfield, age 64, passed away Monday, September 7th 2015. She was born November 20, 1950 to Clyde and Geraldine Newton in Catawba County where she spent most of her life. In 1981 she married Norman Benfield.
Peggy was very generous and always giving gifts to her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling especially to Hawaii with her family. She loved reading any book that came her way. Everyone that met her always used the same word to describe her, "sweet." Every conversation she had with loved ones ended with "I love you." She was loved by many and she loved many more.
Peggy was survived by her husband, two daughters, a sister, 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a step-son.
She was preceded in death by a son Brian Newton Campbell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, September 12th, 2015, at Catawba Funeral Home in Hickory. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
