died August 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. George was the son of the late George H. and Mildred (nee Clarke) Covert. Mr. Covert worked for 40 years as a Stillman and Safety Inspector at Gulf/Chevron Refinery in Philadelphia, PA. He was a long time member of the Sharon Hill Athletic Association, The Sharon Hill Ramblers and the Ocean Pines Golf Club. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Predeceased by his loving wife, Julia. SURVIVORS: His beloved children, Diana (Art) Mathesian, George W. Jr. (Marie) Covert, Thomas (Lynn) Covert, Connie (David) Devine, Lori (Bill) Dix, Audrey (Mark) Nettles, Teresa (Nick) Natale, Tracey (Dennis) Sullivan, 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Siblings Mary Lou Jowder, Betty Sullivan, Doug Covert, Carol Stankus and Kate Grey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday after 8:30 am at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 am at Holy Spirit Church, Shsaron Hill.
