DAUGHTRY -- Melvin B. Daughtry, 76, of Fresno died Friday. He was a cement contractor.
Melvin died from Melanoma he had had for several years.
First wife Darlene Bennett.
One child - Dixie Daughtry Hoover
Second wife Diana Smith Daughtry, Dec. 14 1991. He was married to her for 20 yrs.
He was cremated, no funeral. He used to go hunting in a place by Foster's Ridge, above Shaver Lake in California. He loved the place so much, they would picnic there a lot, they nick-named the place "Mel's Meadow". His ashes were to be spread there.
Memorial: 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Easton. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, 1616 W. Shaw Ave., Suite B6, Fresno, CA 93711. Arrangements: Affordable Direct Cremations.
