Dorris Grant Allenbrand 1921 - 2009
Linwood — Services for Dorris "Brandy" Grant Allenbrand, 87, of Linwood, were Saturday, March 21, at Elm Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Allenbrand died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 26, 1921, at his family's home in Gentry Co., Mo. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and had worked for Reno Bros. Construction for most of his working life.
His wife, Ruth Allenbrand, died in 1999.
Survivors include three children, Jean Allenbrand, Linwood, Elaine Allenbrand, Bonner Springs, and Fred Allenbrand and wife, Linda, Shawnee; two sisters, Dorothy Gannon, Lawrence, and Joyce Shaver, Oskaloosa; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation, sent in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
