Mr. Adams was a charter member and deacon at Trinity Baptist Church where he lovingly served his Lord. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation Maintenance Division. After retirement he enjoyed working in his yard and garden as well as traveling with his loving wife and family. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a gentle, kind and loving man. He always had a giving heart to those in need. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He will be missed but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by wife of 68 years, Letha Adams; parents, Hill and Velma Adams; sister, Onita Hollifield; and brother, Delma Rea Adams.
He is survived by his children, Donald R. Adams and wife Sandra of Corsicana and Dot Burns and husband Marvin of Corsicana; sister, Valta Bruce of Corsicana; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lee Adams of Arlington; grandchildren, Mike Adams and wife Cherie of Corsicana and Lisa Burns and husband Chuck of Corsicana; great-grandchildren, Melanie King and husband Kyle of Round Rock, Bethany Sadler and husband John of Killeen, Mark Burns of Austin, Matt Burns of Corsicana, Brooke Adams of Forney, Trae Adams of Fairfield, and Chris Barnes of Lancaster; great-great-grandchildren, Madison Claire King of Round Rock and Brandon Seals of Corsicana; and former daughter-in-law, Pat Haba of Corsicana.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Floyd Petersen and Brother Harold Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Chuck Burns Jr., Mark Burns, Matt Burns, Kyle King and Chuck Burns Sr.
