MASSENA-Funeral services for Jean H. Cameron, 69, of 171 Rt. 37 will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Massena. The Rev. Msgr. John Pendergast Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.

Calling hours are scheduled for this evening from 7-9 p.m. and for Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. A vigil wake service will be held Monday evening at 8 p.m., also at Phillips.

Ms. Cameron died Friday evening (July 11, 1997) at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Surviving Ms. Cameron are one sister, Mrs. Florence Bennett of Massena; four brothers, Alexander Cameron, Robert A. Cameron, and John A. Cameron, all of Massena and William V. Cameron, of both Massena and Vestal, NY; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Ms. Cameron was predeceased by her parents: Alexander and Ida Mae (Lashomb) Cameron; one sister, Margaret Boak Hazelton, who died in 1988; and three brothers: Paul Cameron, who died in 1943, James Cameron, who died in 1990, and Thomas Cameron, who died in 1993.

Born in Syracuse on September 11, 1927, Ms. Cameron was the daughter of Alexander and Ida Mae (Lashomb) Cameron. She attended the Sacred Heart School and graduated from Massena High School in 1947.

Ms. Cameron worked in food service at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center from 1948-1982. She resided in Ogdensburg during her working years, returning to the family home in Massena after retirement.

Ms. Cameron was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Massena. She enjoyed listening to bag pipe music and helping those in need.

Donations in Ms. Cameron's memory may be made to the Trinity Catholic School Endowment Fund.
