Woodrow Wilson Brown of Route 2, Detroit, died Thursday, May 11 at St. Joseph's
Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in Woodland United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie Johnson officiating. Burial will be at
Detroit Cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Brown was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Woodlawn, a son of Bedford Brown and Ada
Chambless Brown. He attended public schools in the Faulkner community. He
married Madell Gibson on April 24, 1935, and had lived in the Woodlawn community
since that time.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Edna Maddox of Faulkner, and Kathryn
Parker of Bells; two sons, Mike Brown of Detroit and Hugh Brown of Kenawaha;
11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sally Ford and
Virgie Baxter, both of Paris, and Mildred Starnes of Faulkner; and one brother,
Lofton Brown of Woodland.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests that memorials be sent to the
Ella McFadden Hospice Foundation in care of St. Joseph's Hospital.
