ELKTON — William Gordon Adams Sr., 65, of Rt. 3, Elkton died Monday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Adams was born Dec. 5, 1913 in Elkton and was a son of the late William T. and Georgia Breeden Adams.
Before retiring three years ago, he was a foreman for Blake Construction Co. in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 17 in Washington and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
On June 25, 1938 he married the former Doris Vaughan, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Waybright of Clarksburg, Md.; a son, William Gordon Adams Jr., of Leonardtown, Md.; two sisters, Genevieve Cook and Lorraine Davis, both of Hyattsville, Va.; a brother, John T. Adams of Suitland, Md.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elk Run Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Palin with Masonic rites by Elkton Masonic Lodge No. 74.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at Brill Funeral Home. Friends
